bulletsThe Tata Building India School Essay Competition is one of the key initiatives undertaken by the Tata group of companies

bulletsTo motivate the youth of our country towards nation building, this competition took place for the students of class 6 to 12 across all school boards and language mediums


bulletsThrough the concept of an essay competition, we reached out to schools in Maharashtra and Gujarat for this program

bulletsThe essay competition provided a unique platform to encourage young leaders of tomorrow to showcase their expressions in writing, on a host of subjects related to nation building


bulletsA two phase activity across 400 schools for students of class 6 to 12

bulletsThe first phase consisted of exposing young minds to inspirational Tata inked films which stimulated them to think on nation building

bulletsFollowing this, the students were asked a few questions based on the film

bulletsTo ensure a level playing field, the students were divided into 2 participating categories across all languages (Junior: class 6-8 and Senior: class 9-12)

bulletsThe essay topic of national significance was then shared with students

bulletsThese essays were screened at 3 levels: School level, City level and National level

bulletsThe winners at each level were rewarded and special functions were held to felicitate the city level winners and the national level winners

bulletsThe crowning moment for the national winners and the runners-up was an interaction with the Hon'ble President Shri Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New


bulletsWe reached out to 400 schools across Gujarat and Maharashtra covering 12 cities in each state

bulletsFor Gujarat we reached out to Surat, Navsari, Baroda, AVN, Ahmedabad, Surendranagar, Mehsana, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Bhavnagar & Vapi-Valsad

bulletsIn Maharashtra, we executed the program in Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Satara, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Solapur, Sangli, Latur, Aurangabad & Amravati

bulletsOver the course of the program we collected over 300,000 essays from both the states
